And somewhere along the way, D and I found out we are expecting a future runner in January. Exciting times! In all honesty, we were both slightly surprised that it happened so quickly after he returned from training, we were expecting to be one of those couples that tries for at least a few months. But no, try no waiting at all. In fact, we were so shocked when I took the first pregnancy test that we didn't believe it. So we decided to go out and buy two more. Yeah, the first one didn't lie.
Regardless, I had some mental rearranging to do with regards to my priorities. I had planned to run my fastest half-marathon EVER in August or October. I had planned to hike Machu Picchu and to get in even better shape before getting pregnant.
Clearly this wasn't to be.
In fact, I ran my Vancouver BMO Half-Marathon (recap to come) pregnant. And it was my fastest half yet. During that run, and all runs afterwards I had felt some major mental sluggishness, perhaps the budding babe was the reason for this?
I still plan on doing the October Victoria GoodLife Half Marathon, if anything just because I'm stubborn. I may end up walking a good portion of it, but I will do it.
Other than that, not much else is new with us, except D has taken up running now and is finally enjoying it. But that my friends is a whole other post entirely.
I'll be writing a bunch of race recaps soon and some more posts and running while pregnant, and D and his adventures so bear with me. Please? C'mon, you know you want to.
